You can't out run your breakfast

For many working athletes, breakfast is the most critical fixable part of their nutrition.

Too many high quality plans, early starts and disciplined training sessions are then let down by sub-optimal nutrition in the rush of the typical morning.

CHOP delivers the benefits of a high protein and nutrient-dense breakfast, while overcoming the obstacles faced by the busy, working athlete.

What's so important about breakfast?

A nutritionally-sound breakfast serves three vital roles for endurance athletes:

  1. Provides the nutrition required to rebuild and recover from the last workout and reap the training benefit

  2. Refuels the body's depleted energy stores to be ready for the next workout

  3. Creates the satiation and lasting sense of fullness that will prevent impulsive snacking on nutrient poor or junk foods

But for many amateur athletes, this doesn't happen.

Hurrying between a workout and work, juggling family commitments or that first flurry of work emails, even the best intentions frequently give way to the pressure of the moment.

Why does CHOP work?

CHOP addresses the psychology of good nutrition as well as the biology.

Good nutrition plans are about adherence as well as ingredients. A breakfast that requires time or willpower every morning will soon get dropped, no matter how perfect on paper. One that's simple and fast will become a lasting positive habit.

We designed CHOP from the ground up and tested it within our own working / training / family lives to address this challenge.

This is why it works:

  • It moves the point of decision making. Instead of deciding what to eat at your point of highest pressure (7.25am on a weekday morning), you make the decision when you are relaxed and setting up for the next day (the previous evening)

  • It's transportable. If you're visiting the pool or gym, or biking/running into work, your CHOP will be just as good from a resealable container out of your bag as from your fridge at home, so it fits into busy working lifestyles

  • It's tasty. In three flavours, as well as a plain base version, you can enjoy as is, or add extra toppings to make it infinitely variable and enticing

  • It's satisfying. Unlike shakes or fast food, the mix of oats, chia and chewy berries makes for a breakfast that is satisfying and rewarding

  • And of course, it contains all the right nutrition for endurance athletes. High in protein, fibre, slow burn carbs, and enriched with an athletic multivitamin.
